Tree Removal on Tight Lots in Longwood, FL
Longwood tree service is small lots and old live oaks. Around the historic district, Sweetwater, and the streets off Rangeline Road, the tree was there before the house. The fence is close, the porch is under a limb, and there is nowhere to fell the trunk. Trees for the Fallen rigs those trees down in sections. Call (321) 578-2235 or request a quote.
This is different work from a pine on an open Deltona lot. The price is about access and how much wood has to be lowered, not just the height.
Historic Longwood, Sweetwater, and Rangeline
Historic Longwood and the Reiter Park area, Sweetwater, the Rangeline Road corridor, and the residential streets off State Road 434 and 17-92. We also pick up the Longwood side of Lake Mary when the lot is the same kind of tight oak yard.
Longwood trees that cause the calls
- Live oak limbs lying on an old shingle roof or a porch
- Laurel oaks with heavy end weight over the neighbor
- Magnolias planted against the wall that now touch the soffit
- Sidewalks and brick walks under the drop zone
- Stumps in the front lawn the mower cannot clear
Removing a tree when there is no drop zone
If there is no place to drop a limb, we do not drop it. We climb or set the lift in the driveway or the street, and we rope each piece past the porch and the fence. A crane is for the trunk that sits on the roof line when a bucket cannot stand anywhere useful.
We protect brick, old walks, and the oak you are keeping. If a historic live oak can be reduced instead of removed, we will say that before we price a takedown.
Pruning old live oaks without topping
A Longwood prune is clearance off the roof and the sidewalk, deadwood, and a little weight off the long laterals. Topping a live oak to make it look smaller grows a weaker crown back. We will not sell that cut.
Stump grinding beside walks and driveways
The grinder fits a standard side gate. Front-yard stumps by the walk get ground below grade and the chips go back in the hole so you can cover them with soil. We use the drive, the walk, or the gate. We do not spin the machine across a wet lawn if there is another path. Details are on the stump grinding page.

Limbs on porches after a straight-line wind
Older Longwood trees throw big limbs in a straight-line wind. We get the wood off the porch or the roof, then look at the rest of the tree with you. A torn limb is not always a reason to remove a sound live oak.

Longwood tree service questions
Do you cut trees in the historic district?
Yes. Those oaks and small lots are a normal Longwood job. We plan the rigging around brick, fences, and the trees you want to keep.
What if the oak is in the city right of way?
We stop. A tree in the planting strip or over the sidewalk is often the city's, not yours. We will tell you before we cut it so you can get the approval.
Will you top a live oak in the historic district?
No. We clear the roof and the sidewalk and leave the tree. Topping grows a weaker crown back into the same space.
What if the only access is the sidewalk?
We stop and check whether the tree or the planting strip belongs to the city before we set a truck on it.
